Ravenstreak looked over to welcome their new visitor. "Eaglescale, are you coming on patrol? If so, join the club! Okay, troops, lets move!" Ravenstreak laughed and started bounding away, hoping the patroll would follow. -sniff sniff- Mouse. Raveenstreak dropped into hunters crouch, silently placing one tabby foot infromt of another. The mouse, busy scruffing, paid no attention to the deputy. Bad luck today, mouse! thought Ravenstreak joyfully. He pounced, landing on the mouse. Holding it underneath one powerful paw, he clawed it daed. Ravenstreak's tabby head whipped around, his dull green eyes carefully scanning every cat there. He gave a nod, and whispered, "You can now come." He had an extreamly low voice, like a prophetic StarClan cat.

A smile couldn't help but creep up on the large gray apprentice's face as Ghostpaw bounded after Ravenstreak. He loved the idea of a patrol, and with three great warriors and Flickerpaw, one out of three of his best friends. His eyes burned with excitement as he moved swiftly after his deputy, his legs churning and his fur swiftly moving with his muscles. A soft breeze pulled at his fur, but otherwise it was a great day, with the sun shining almost brighter then ever. There were patches on the ground like a leopards fur from the canopy, and every time Ghostpaw passed beneath one, he could feel the warmth seep into his pelt for a second.
Ghostpaw came into step just a step behind Ravenstreak. And as he walked, his eyes danced around, watching the trees and the bird fluttering above. The smile still danced on his face, and his ivory white teeth could just be barely seen glinting from underneath his jet black lips. The day couldn't get any better.

Eaglescale followed after Ghostpaw, carefully covering up his achy paw. After watching Ravenstreak hutn down the mouse, he decided to make good use of such a good example. He turned to Flickerpaw and nudged her on the shoulder to catch her attention.
"Did you see how carefully Ravenstreak stepped? Right in a nearly perfect line. A mouse can feel vibrations through the ground, so you have to be extremely careful not to be too loud. Now, instead of breathing deeply, try to breath in short little sniffs. It brings in more air and therefore brings in more smells."
He lifted his head and breathed in little breaths and could smell another younger mouse scrurrying through the leaf litter.
"O-k, Flickerpaw, here you go." He whispered and gestured with his tail to the tiny mouse. When Ravenstreak spoke, Eaglescale jumped. His eyes were dull and his voice was low and prophetic.
"Umm, are you alright, Ravenstreak?"

Bloodkiss flashed an odd glance at Ravenstreak, wondering what the tom was playing at. She rolled her shoulders, trying to make them lose the tension she'd carried all morning.
She dropped away from her new friends Ghostpaw and Flickerpaw, and to the warrior she'd just met. She was a bit offended he hadn't listened to her, but oh well. She continued padding though, being left behind wasn't part of her agenda. She didn't have an agenda though. Well, now she did, and there was one thing on it. She coughed politely, trying to gain his attention, "I'm sorry, but I don't know your name." She mewed, smiling brightly.
She'd talk to Ravenstreak later, after he was done playing games. Really, she didn't like that sort of cat; always teasing people. Sure, a good joke was fine, but when you teased a person non-stop, always pretending you were hurt or something, that was annoying.
She tripped over a large stick, barely keeping her footing. Yes, GREAT Bloodkiss, that's an amazing way to get his attention, falling flat on your face! she thought sourly, though she was still attempting to keep her outlook bright.

Ravenstreak looked sharply at Eaglescale, not liking the idea of being critisized. Then, he saw the smile on Ghostpaw's face, and he couldn't help but smiling along. He mamged to keep from bursting out in laughter, but his dancing green eyes took care of that. Ravenstreak slowed his pace, matching Ghostpaw's exactly. He looked aroung, seeing that Bloodkiss had made an appempt to acomplish something. "Is something wrong, Bloodkiss? And Eaglescale, is there any reason why I wouldn't be alright?" Ravenstreak asked, as his paws splashed through a puddle. He wasn't entirly concerned, but he decided to at least ask. What more could he do? He didn't want to get on that cat's nerves, for who knows what she could do to him!? After a while, he was worried about 2 things. (1) Would they ever finish this patrol? (2) Was Bloodkiss really alright? Did he have the right to feel as concerned as he did at that moment? He pondered over the thought for wuite some time... As he sat down, his tabby tail wrapping neatly around his paws so you could only see the raven-black streak, he looked at Bloodkiss, waiting for an answer from the she-cat.

Eaglescale stared at Ravenstreak closely before moving forward. He then noticed that Bloodkiss was right beside him. Being a big flirt, he smiled, and shook his fur, ruffling it up a bit for benefit. He watched her and smiled when she asked for his name.
"Eaglescale. I was named Eagle because of my fur, and scale because I could climb fast." Somehow he didn't sound like he was boasting, but was simply stating the facts. His eyes spoke otherwise. The tom was quite happy at holding this she-cats attention. Her face is quite expressive and her fur is extremely attractive! And, wow! Check out those eyes! He quickly ended his acession of Bloodkiss when she stumbled.
The coy tom leaned over and leant a shoulder in case another stick tripped her. When their fur touched, he felt as though an electric jolt ran between their fur. He jumped in surprise and landed hard on his injured paw. The hurt tom let out a howl of fiery pain.

Bloodkiss laughed, noting the toms obvious flirty intentions. The sound was light and airy, just as she had hoped it would be. If he was flirting, why shouldn't she do the same? She flicked dancing hazel eyes at him, a mischevious grin sprouting across her face. But her flirting was interrupted by falling... She jerked slightly at his touch, but somehow it felt... right. When he jumped, she felt the laughter coming, but instead a flashback: A black cat beside her, walking through the forest between their territories, he looked so happy! Talking, he started laughing, a carefree sound that looked odd coming from such an intimidatin- She shook her head, gasping as she tried to knock the image away. Shadowpool! the old tom's name flashed across her mind. Her eyes dampened, losing the fire that burned. She sighed misreably, if she liked this cat, it was gonig to be a complicated crush. She cursed the guilt silently. Most cats probably wouldn't have been as effected, but she caused the downfall of a cat! Of a friend , not just a cat! And he was probably dead now! She didn't offer support to her new friend, Or crush? She shook the thought away, dropping to the back of the patrol, her shoulders sagging. At Ravenstreak's question ashe raised her head, staring into his eyes strongly. "Fine. " She answered quietly, drooping her head again.

Eaglescale hissed tightly. Pain raked through his paw and he held it up, letting the blood flow to it freely. He licked it, trying to soothe it but only hurting it worse. His face twisted, he turned to look at Bloodkiss.
But her face was.....different. Instead of the smiling charm it had eld before, now it only held emptiness and..... guilt? He stared at her, feeling a bit worried.
"Bloodkiss?" He asked worriedly, ignoring his own pain.
"Is everything o-k? Where exactly did you come from, anyway?" He wasn't really prying, the tom reasoned. He was curious.
OOC; Sucky post...

Ghostpaw was walking behind the two warriors, sadly, and he watched as their small little "story" unfolded. First the flirting, which he gave a wrinkled grossed-out face at, then the stumbling, and helping, then the pain, and the... memories? Then Bloodkiss dropped back, behind Ghostpaw and Flickerpaw. The gray tom turned his head to look at her, his gray eyes concerned. He thought he had been watching closely, but maybe not. Had Eaglescale done something to bother the she-cat? Ghostpaw flicked his ears, unsure. He turned his head back though and gazed up at Ravenstreak. They were almost to the border, what would they do then?

Ravenstreak looked ahead, his green orbs glowing in the moonlight. He spotted the border, and he stopped. He turned around and meowed deeply, "Okay, which way do you guys want to go?" His tail wrapped neatly around his paws. Ravenstreak's head tilted upward and, right above the tree-tops. The moon was high in the sky and shining. His glossy coat shimmered like a tabby pool.
He looked deep into Bloodkiss's eyes and saw that she was feeling...guilty? Why would that be? He shook his head, getting the thought off of his head. Then he heard Eaglescale's comment. Ravenstreak had every right to feel concerned. But, he left that to Eaglescale, who seemed to be...hitting on Bloodkiss. A mischevious look crossed his face.

Bloodkiss turned non-descript eyes to the tom next to her, feeling distant and a foreigner. She thingyed her head slightly, scrutinizing the tom and deciding what to say. He really was attractive... she shook her blood-red head, and finally noticing that she had been holding her breath. She inhaled a large breath, "A way's away." She answered quietly, bringing even more memories to the fore of her mind. She turned her head down, her keen eyes fixed on the ground below her. She wouldn't t have really cared if she had fallen at that particular moment, no, it was more a matter of have a place to fix her unfocused eyes on. She took another deep breath, drawing all her courage, and resuming her fiery image. "I'm sorry," she apologized sincerely, "I'm not really acting like myself, excuse me." She blinked apologetically once more, dropping behind him, and fixing her eyes on the ground once more.
You no, it really shouldn't have bothered her that much! It really shouldn't have. The guilt always seemed to be there, smothering her. Whenever she looked at an attractive tom, or flirted with a stranger, the image of the handsome black cat came again. If she just knew that Shadowpool was alive... maybe. Or maybe that would be worse, she really didn't know. Bloodkiss shook her ruby head, trying to wash away the confusing swirl of thoughts with the simple rhythm of walking.

[blockqoute] Ravenstreak blinked, his green eyes pools of nothingness. He saw that Bloodkiss was deep in thought, so he decided to let her be. He veered in the right direction, heading twords thir destination. He didn't quite know what that was yet. Oh well. Ravenstreak thought contentedly. Ravenstreak speeded up to a brisk trot, making sure that they would finish this patrol by sun-down.

Eaglescale stared at Bloodkiss, worry distorting his handsome face for about three seconds, before he looked forward again, trying to shove off his abrupt feelings. With heavy feet, he moved up to beside Ravenstreak, walking very lightly on his injured foot.
The handsome tom shook his head an refused to let himself look behind at Bloodkiss, but it really wasn't working. Who am I to leave her? He thought angrily to himself. He turned and was smacked by the disgusting scent of badgers. A male, his mate and three cubs were approaching the patrol from the sun side.
"LOOK OUT! Badgers!" He snarled and threw himself in front of Ghostpaw and Flickerpaw. The badgers plowed out of the underbrush, snarling at the intruders. Their eyes glowed red with insane rage.

Ooc- Oh joy!! More badgers!! Badgers always make things interesting -hugs badgers- Yay!!!
Bloodkiss's head whipped around, intense eyes searching for their target. They found it. She let a small gasp escape her ruby-colored maw. Five badgers! She thought worriedly. Of course, the cubs would do no harm... for now. She whipped her head around, looking for some kind of escape. Well, of course they could escape! But then, where would they go? They couldn't go anywhere near camp, the badgers would smell the other cats. They'd basically have to run them in circles, and they would eventually tire out.
Having a quick mind, Bloodkiss ran all these thoughts through her agile mind. She stood stock still, even as the badgers grew closer. But a feirce grip took hold of her consciousness, a wicked smile appeared across her face, teeth glinting in the sunlight. Bloodkiss loved to fight. And it was a talent, a practiced talent. She had just spent the last moon wondering across unknown territories with unwelcoming cats, OF COURSE it was going to be practiced. And, mind you, she had faced plenty of badgers in that time. But the doubt still nagged at the back of her mind. TWO badgers?? We'll never be able to make it past them!! And one has cubs! We'll be flayed... Tumbling over eachother.
She cast a critical eye over their group, five cats. Her gaze stuck on Eagelscale for a moment, and her grin widened. She shook her head, moving on. She purposely held her gaze on Ravenstreak, debating over whether to attack or get permission from the deputy.... Attack. She turned her head back to Ghostpaw and Eaglescale. "Well, this should be fun, don't you think?" She meowed, her voice sounding, for once, sinister. She wondered finally if she would be ridiculed for not waiting to see orders. But Ravenstreak was a smart cat, and Bloodkiss had thought that she had seen that all their options lead to dead ends-quite literally- just like she had! She launched herself forward, towards the male badger. She clawed up his stout back, hanging on with every fiber of her being and clawing like heck. Clawing left her vulnerable to being thrown off, but, she shrugged, if that's what happens, so be it.
Yea right, fun?

Ravenstreak yowled and threw himself at the female badger. Her ruby eyes blazed with fear and courage, fiercly fighting to protect her cubs. His mind whirling, Ravenstreak clawed furocusily (sp???) at her eyes, and yowling as he was thrown off. Even with his muscular body, he was no match for this huge female badger...alone. Dull and tired eyes snapped open, scanning the group for Eaglescale. He weakly hissed, "Eaglescale! Help me!" Right before the female badger started clawing at his exposed brown underbelly. Ravenstreak yowled with rage, and he threw the badger off of him.
What if they don't give up? What will we do then? Ravenstreak thought with terror. Summoning al of his strength, he forced his wobbly legs to stand. He feebly dragged himself over to the partially unconsious female badger, and bit down hard on her neck. Her breathing slowed, now coming out in gasps. His own breath was short and unsteady, and he limped badly. One of the cibs was escaping, and he didn't know what to do with it. He would feel terribly guilty if he let it go, so he chased after it. It must have been born about 2 seasons ago, for it was pretty fast! Ravenstreak finally caught up to it, and killed it instantly. He went back to the spot to see how everything was running...
