The long brown stalks of grass shifted, bringing the scent of rabbit. The sky was a bright blue, like that of a robin's egg. A little pool, in front of a black and white feline, shimmered and sparkled as the little bunny stopped to drink, not knowing that death stalked it just a few fox-lengths away. Then it stopped; something wasn't right. Standing on its hind legs, it twitched its little pink nose. It smelled the cat lying in the shadows. But had it noticed Raon seconds earlier, it might have survived. The lithe black body, whose paws, muzzle, and chest were white, leaped out at the rabbit, bringing it down with strong forepaws. The rabbit let out a little shriek before it was cut off. Raon held the fresh-kill by it's neck, thanking StarClan that prey was plentiful. Raon dropped the rabbit by the pool, reaching his head down to lap up some of the refreshing, crystal clear water. He had been recently hunting for the rest of MoonClan and needed a short break. Earlier on his hunt, he had caught a thrush and a pair of fat mice. Surely that entitled him to be able to stop for a bit?

A small tabby she-cat padded silently up behind Raon. Her robin-egg blue eyes danced in the sunlight, but not with anything that represented a whole heart. Tapping him lightly on the shoulder with her striped tail, she meowed, "Good hunting, Raon?" Sitting down beside him, she licked a paw, drawing it over her tabby head more than once; awaiting an answer patiently.

The she-cat's appearance startled Raon, for he hadn't been paying as much attention as he should have to his surroundings. Sometimes he just liked to sit in the silence and enjoy the peacefulness while it lasted. Raon turned to look at the she-cat. Her name escaped him, but he could go without remembering it at the moment. Twitching his tail tip in greeting, he mewed, "Oh yes, fine, fine. I caught that," Raon waved his tail at the recently caught rabbit, "just now. There's some more buried back there."

Ooc//Don't mind if I join, do you? Darkthorn padded quietly through the undergrowth, his piercing green orbs darting back and forth. He weaved around a large bramble, his thoughts swirling. It was a lovely day to hunt, and Darkthorn was surprised he hadn't encountered anyone yet. His silent pad stepped on a brittle stick, breaking it and emitting a large snap. A startled robin flew out of a tree nearby, screeching a loud alarm call. Darkthorn sighed, that was the end of his good luck! But it wasn't as bad as it seemed, he had already caught three things.
For some reason he decided to continue padding through the now-silent forest, enjoying the day. And whence he came upon another cats scent, he did not wish to be disturbed, but again did not turn around. He opened his maw, revealing pearly teeth that glinted in the sunlight. He let the air flow over his scent glands, bringing with it cat. He could not identify the scents, however. The dark tabby padded over to a tall oak tree, in no rush. He scrambled up the trunk, taking care to make naught a sound. Once at a decent level, he pulled himself out onto a large branch, big enough to hold his weight, and tried to get a look at these two cats who dared disturb his peace.
At first all he could see was oak leaves, but he scrambled far enough out to see two shapes, both Moonclan. He visibly relaxed, his tense shoulders loosening-although he kept a firm grip on the branch. As he focused more he could make out Raon and... Robinwing? Darkthorn shook his head, he couldn't rightly remember. Icewhisker had obviously hunting, by the looks of the large rabbit that lay by his paws. Darkthorn snorted, atleast someone had the good sense to go hunting today! He awaited their next move patiently, wanting to see if they had noticed his vigil and wondering what their reaction would be.

Of course you can join. ^^ Just one thing, you wrote 'Icewhisker' instead of Raon. xD Just thought I'd alert you of it.

Raon sighed, waiting for an answer. When it didn't come immediately, he felt a familiar tug at his mind. It was strange; every time he tried to grasp for sanctuary, memories surfaced, boiling to the top above the rest. It was as he if were reliving a nightmare, every day, and every night. His sister, Raccoonmask, was the only one who knew the truth...and knew the lies...But even she couldn't begin to understand what went on inside the calm figure he portrayed. Raon knew she worried, for it was easy to read her. It was her eyes, those yellow-green eyes, that gave everything away. But Raon forced himself to scrape these thoughts aside.
The gentle wind, which had been blowing calmly, brought a strange, yet familiar scent, to Raon. He couldn't identify it; the wind had blown only the slightest trace to him. It disappeared as soon as it came, yet curiosity now strayed across Raon's mind. White whiskers twitched along with black ears as Raon attempted to catch any sound of a cat moving. The only smell around him was that of honey colored heather, potential fresh-kill, and MoonClan. No enemy Clans, no badgers or hawks...nothing dangerous, it seemed. Raon shook his head, abandoning his worries and focusing back on his Clanmate in front of him.

Robinwing nodded, her eyes glowing, "That's more than what I caught. I've been out here a long while and all I've caught is a squirrel, which is more fur than meat. It might feed a couple kits." Noticing Raon's slight, tense moment, she added in a slightly quieter, hushed tone, "Smell something?" Her tail swaying back and forth.

Raon felt slightly uneasy, now that Robinwing noticed the scent as well. His long whiskers twitched as his complex mind searched through all his memories of cat scents. Nothing came to him. Sighing, Raon only shrugged at Robingwing. "Maybe..." he mewed, looking down at his paws. Now, the rabbit seemed tempting him. He had already gathered enough for the clan, and he wasn't on hunting patrol. Glancing up at Robinwing, he murmured, "Want to share this?" His tail tip was flicking towards the dead rabbit.

Robinwing nodded, it was probably just an odd smelling squirrel. She glanced at the plump rabbit. Then she looked back at her pathetic, bushy-tailed squirrel. "No thanks," She said curtly, "I don't think I've earned so much as a baby mouse." Her robin's-egg blue eyes seemed icy for a moment, but then returned to their normal mysterious haze.

Darkthorn's lips curled in a small grin, pleased by not being found. He sat in the branch a bit longer, calmed by the sound of wind in the leaves; whimsical and droning. He watched his dark tabby paws grow hazy as his head dipped, then snapped back up. He couldn't be found sleeping in a tree when he was supposed to be hunting! And thee warriors seemed to only be chatting, and about nothing interesting.
He quietly rose from his position, wincing as cramped muscles stretched. He unfurled as best he could on the slim branch, making sure his claws were gripping the branch tightly the entire time. He padded cautiously along the branch, twitching his whiskers irritatedly as clumps of silver green blocked his veiw.
Scrambling down the trunk as quietly as possible, thudding to the ground with a small huff. His first step landed him on a brittle stick, which promptly broke with a loud crack.
Darkthorn swore quietly, jumping to a bush near him. He wasn't quite sure why he was so apprehensive of being found; he just was. As small thorns dug into his mottled pelt, he rose cautiously, padding around the perimeter of the area where his two clanmates were conversing, a slight rustling the only sign of where he was moving. He settled into a small patch of long grass behind a bramble, once more waiting to see what level his clanmates vigilance was.

The tabby she-cat's ears pricked up as she heard a twig snap nearby. With a wary glance at Raon, she lowered herself into a crouch and crept ever so slightly foward. Lifting her nose, she scented the air. Clanmate, definitely a Clanmate. Glancing back at Raon, she meowed with amusement light in her voice for the first time in a long time, "I think one of our Clanmates is trying to scare us."
