Short-Description:
Tom with different shades of gray mixed into his long pelt.Picture: Description:
A frame that is large and big-muscled has fur with different shades of gray swirled into his pelt. Ghostpaw’s name came from the lack of color that this apprentice has in his pelt. There is none whatsoever, not even on his nose or in his eyes. The fur is long in length and usually bunches together with other strands making the fur kind of clumpy, but not really matted in any way. The fur is soft and is at its darkest on the toms chest, belly, shoulder blades and back paws. There is only one spot of white in his fur which is located in stripes above his eyes and on his face. The stripes have no pattern at all and kind of just freely run, twisting and turning. They aren’t that bright or large and the ends of the stripes slowly fade into the dark gray color that covers the rest of the face. Ghostpaw has large muscles for a cat of his age and they are still growing. His legs are strong and a bit on the short side, but it doesn’t bother him. Ghostpaw has large paws, to large for his body and he is often clumsy because of them. He walks with his feet clumping down loudly normally, but when he wants to be quiet, he can be as quiet as a ghost. Because of his long fur, Ghostpaw looks a bit larger then he actually is, but you still shouldn’t think of it in those terms because he is quite a strong young tom.Personality:
Ghostpaw has white dyed claws and teeth and they are actually quite similar to each other when you look at them. Both claw and tooth are hooked and sharp, ready at any moment to defend their owner. Because of Ghostpaw’s weight, the teeth are used more often then the claws—even when hunting prey. Ivory claws are hidden within large gray paws, only coming out when they are needed (as in hunting or battles – Ghostpaw has never been in a real battle before though). Whitish Teeth hang from rosy gums hidden behind deep black lips. Both of these weapons will be used when needed, but not before that: Ghostpaw would never even harm a fly if he didn’t have to.
Ghostpaw has a round face. Fur is plentiful around his cheeks, and throat, and chest. Light gray fur—not light enough to call white, but not dark enough to just call gray—spurs out of his tall ears that rest as triangles on top of his round head. Ghostpaw has a soft gray nose with no pink within it at all. Light gray whiskers the same color as the fur that comes out of his ears are wiry and stiff and the spur around the nose, above the lips and some can even be found above the eyes. Gray fur is mostly found on his face, dark in color except for the thin white stripes above and around this toms eyes. Eyes… Ghostpaw’s eyes are a very, very dark color. They are gray, like everything else on Ghostpaw’s body, but a very, very dark gray almost black. It’s like the color of the night sky in the darkest part of night but with stars shining so that there is a little luminous glow all around. It’s that color, however hard to explain. The pupil is almost impossible to tell apart from the color, but if you look close enough you can see it. Dark deep pools of color they are with only the sparkle of happiness within them.
With a name like Ghostpaw, a cat with a mysterious personality and a knack for getting in trouble might be what picture forms, but this is not the case. Ghostpaw is not shy at all, and he rarely hides feelings from others. This apprentice is very friendly, with a great smile to show it. Ghostpaw is nice to all living creatures, and wouldn’t hunt prey if the cats didn’t have to too survive. The large gray apprentice has this little ritual ever time he hunts. When he spots the prey, in his mind he’ll send out a little warning message, saying always the same thing: Watch out, a hunter is coming. Then, he’d stalk forward in his hunters crouch, his belly sweeping slightly on the ground, and his paws sliding silently as if they weren’t touching the claws at all. He’d leap, and land, and kill swiftly and then after he was finished he’d say something else for his ritual: Thank you vole, for giving me what I and my clan needs to survive. He’d replace the vole with whatever animal he was catching obviously, but never once has he wavered from this ceremony. Every time a limp body is beneath his paws or in his jaws he has thanked the creature for its help to keep Ghostpaw and RainClan strong. Nobody really knows of Ghostpaw’s ritual—the ritual is the one thing he has kept a secret from all others. He isn’t afraid that if he tells them that they will think he’s odd, he’s not afraid at all, it just seems like something that others wouldn’t be interested in, there was no point in telling somebody something that they don’t care about, is there?History:
Ghostpaw is a very loyal cat, both to StormClan and to friends. His heart is one of enormous size and it pumps love and kindness through his body and even into the hearts and bodies of others. Something nice about Ghostpaw is that, if he’s sad, he’ll let it show, he’ll tell you that he’s sad and he’ll share with you why. He won’t crawl into a small corner of seclusion and hide from others, he’ll stand out in the open and speak and maybe if others are feeling down he’ll help them out.
A great thing that you can have is a love for living, and just appreciating what you have in life and not complaining. You’re really good off in life if you just want to live how you get it, and live free without having to worry about what lays ahead and what has already gone by. That’s how Ghostpaw is. He’ll mourn for the past and bad things that have happened, but he isn’t going to drown in his misery. And he doesn’t worry about what will happen in the future. Some apprentices wonder if they’ll make it to warriorship, if they’ll be good enough. Some of them are even looking forward to becoming deputy and leader and planning that out. They worry about how to impress their mentors so that they will be good warriors, Ghostpaw doesn’t worry about that. He doesn’t exactly try to impress his mentor, he might impress him, but he is just being himself. He’s a wise young cat and he will sure get far in his life with his compassion for everybody and love for just plain old living.
Alone… Ghostkit was born to a StormClan queen named Lilacflower. There were three kits originally born in the litter, but one of them, Ghostkit’s sister, was still born. Ghostkit’s brother, Tallkit was just as strong as Ghostkit when they were born and they were both large kits with a big appetite. Their mother worked with them the best she could, but she was still grieving over the loss of her mate whom had died a few suns before the kits birth. She was trying her hardest, but in the end it was to hard for her and the she-cat died of stress and starvation because she wasn’t eating enough. Ghostkit and Tallkit were left alone in the big world. Of course, they had the clan though and the cats took care of them. At the time, they were the only two kits in the nursery and there was no other queen that could nurse them, so the kits began eating prey early. Their teeth and jaws became strong with eating and chewing, but of course a warrior always split the pieces into smaller bits. Tallkit and Ghostkit grew strong, but Tallkit was always very adventurous, too adventurous. One day Tallkit left the camp without his brother. He wasn’t seen again. A warrior patrol found scent markings of a fox mixed with the small white and black kits. Ghostkit was alone, with nobody left but the clan.Role Playing Example:
Watching and Learning. Ghostkit spent the last moon of his kithood alone. He didn’t talk to other kits, he only played with butterflies and other bugs that he could chase—but never kill. He also spent much of his time watching the other apprentices and warriors in the clan, seeing how the days work. In the morning, mentors would take apprentices out to train and warriors with no apprentices would go on patrols, fix up things in camp or go hunting. At sun-high apprentices would usually come back and do some of their other duties such as getting moss for the elders. Warriors might still be out, but might have come back by now. In the evening, when the sun was setting and sending shadows cascading down warriors and apprentices ate, slept, shared-tongues and there was the occasional clan meeting. Ghostkit learned these ways quickly and one unexpected evening a meeting was called and Ghostkit was asked to step forward. Ghostkit at dusk became Ghostpaw with his very own mentor. That is where Ghostpaw is now, just after becoming an apprentice. He learns in the same way that he did when he watched the daily doings of the warriors and apprentices, by watching and following. Ghostpaw could do almost anything if he just mimicked somebody that did it first.
